The Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the oldest and also the biggest university in Bulgaria. It has been established in 1888. There are a couple of disciplines, but the most desired one is Medicine. Sofia University has 16 faculties and three departments, where over 21,000 students receive their education. James Boucher (mainly the buildings of the Faculty of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics), the area of the Pliska Hotel (125 Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd., blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 – mainly the Faculty of Economics and specialities of the Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Science, Education and Arts), Levski Monument (Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication), Todor Alexandrov Blvd. (Center for Foreign Languages).
There are Sofia University branches in Balchik, Kiten and Varna.
